cordless home phone - can any be just battery-powered?

Our phone point is on one side of the hall where there is room for a table, but the powerpoint is down the hall on the other side. We currently have an old-style corded phone, but would really like not to have to sit in the draughty hallway to talk. Would also like to avoid wires trailing round the hall to the power point. So are there any cordless phones that don't need mains power, just batteries? I haven't found any and suspect there is no such thing. Thought I'd ask before I just give up.

Why not get the phone point moved near to the power point or get a new phone point put in in the living room or kitchen? Get a man in !

I have never seen a cordless battery phone tbh and it may well be flat just when you need it most.

Yes, we should just get another phone point somewhere else downstairs. We do have one upstairs with a cordless but we are usually downstairs in the daytime. Just thought I'd check before embarking on DIY/finding tradesmen!

In terms of the DECT Wireless Phone Line Extender, I think I did look into this a while ago and there seemed to be a potential problem with broadband and broadband filters. Not sure if this is still the case.
