Rubber flooring questions

We are thinking about the smooth type for our bathrooms. Can anyone advise?

  1. Do the lighter coloured ones show marks and skids very easily? Darker ones show water marks?
  2. Is it more slippery than vinyl when wet?
  3. How does it age?
  4. Do you find lots of hairs 'sticking' to it? (sorry for the ewwww factor!)
  5. Do you really have to re-seal it every 6 months?
  6. Does it feel hard if laid directly onto ply?
  7. Does anyone have the slate effect? It looks nice, but am concerned it would be a bit of a pain to clean.

Thanks so much..

i am currently talking to designers who will refurbish my bathroom.

They suggest not to have rubber flooring in bahtrooms as it is very very slippery . They don't like using it as a material as as you mention it needs to be re sealed very often which is not a very practical solution.

we had blck marmoleum in our kitchen, it was matte blaack and looked gorgeous, but was an absolute nightmare to clean, needed mopping more than once a day (which I obviously never did). I would suggest that if you don't mind the look you get something which is marbled or more than one colour.
