Ds1 loves doing jigsaws but the only ones I can find seem to be either about 20 pieces or 100 pieces.I'm looking for some around 40 pieces if anyone can find me some please.

He only likes animal ones.

Tia.

My ds (4 in June) is a jigsaw freak and particularly loves dinosaur or animal jigaws. Orchard toys have some good ones (we have a farm one which is about 50 pieces I think) and Ravensburger is another good site to search. Look here for some ideas. Lots of disney ones but there are some animal ones. I always do a seach on Amazon as well as they do some good ones.

LIZS · 01/03/2008 10:09

Ravensburger normally have boxes of 35,48 &60pcs whcih you could presort.

Bubbaloo · 01/03/2008 13:37

Thanks for the link, but they're mainly Disney and he's a fussy so and so.It didn't enter my head to look on Amazon though-there's quite a few on there.

Dd is a lover of jigsaws and we got quite a few of hers from the charity shop. Worth having a look, we've even had a couple with the shrink wrap still on them.

Try some GALT giant floor puzzles - they are 30 piece puzzles with some shaped pieces to put in eg. farm - piece will be a pig, rooster,

Bubbaloo · 01/03/2008 14:29

Some great suggestions there, and I may very well order a personalised one from that site-seems very reasonable. Thanks!

My daughter has some lovely ones from Djeco - they come in boxes the shape of a cow, dog or teddy (24 pieces), a princess, a ballerina, a pirate (36 pieces), a castle (56 pieces I think). There are other models available.

Anna8888 · 01/03/2008 14:37

Djeco puzzles are for sale on Amazon.

Bubbaloo · 01/03/2008 14:43

They would be perfect! He has 4 Galt puzzles which are in a shaped box(pig, hedgehog, octopus, elephant)and they are his favourite.Only problem is each one is only 12 pieces,so he does them in no time at all.Thanks.

www.mulberrybush.co.uk has puzzles with the same picture but you choose the amount of pieces. At Xmas the catalogue had loads of designs, with 4 or 5 different amount of pieces. Can only see dinosaurs and Noah's Ark on the site at the mo but wasn't looking very thoroughly.

MilaMae · 01/03/2008 20:18

Think one of the options was around 40 pieces.

Blandmum · 01/03/2008 20:18

Something that is good for jigsaw lovers is those 'roll up mats' so that you can tidy the half some puzzles when not in play

melpomene · 01/03/2008 20:23

Would you countthis as an animal puzzle? My dds have it and it is great. It comes with a story CD that you can play while inserting the final pieces of the puzzle.

LaundryFairy · 01/03/2008 20:38

DS was crazy about puzzles (until lego took over his life) and he loved George Luck's wooden puzzles. Web site is: www.georgeluckpuzzles.com/
They are beautifully made, and come in wide range of difficulty from toddler to adult.

Bubbaloo · 01/03/2008 20:38

Yes,those roll up mats are great.Might have to invest in one when he starts wanting to do the really complicated jigsaws that take forever to complete.
The one with the cd looks great but he loves animals and likes mainly jungle/farmyard animals and dinosaurs.
Have just bought 4 Galt floor puzzles off Ebay tonight,so that should keep him entertained for a while.

LaundryFairy-they're lovely but I don't think ds1 would be keen on them.
He does have something similar where each piece is a different animal and they interlock to make a beautiful wooden Noah's Ark which is very colourful and the animals can all be played with seperately aswell which is a bonus.
