Help! I've no idea what to get my 14yo niece for Christmas other than vouchers.

poor you! I usually have trouble deciding what to get my friend's dd's... successful presents so far... 'groovy' T-shirts, hair thingies as they both have long hair, any kind of fashion accessories and I know that as of next year earrings as they just had their ears pierced

If you're totally stuck why not ask their mum what she wants (as opposed to what she needs...)

Or you could make up a voucher for cinema tickets for her and one of her friends?

Good luck!

littlemissbossy · 15/12/2004 09:31

I'd stick with the vouchers TBH, gift card from HMV?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2004 09:33

Thought about clothes vouchers - she's at least 5'8" so buying clothes for her is a nightmare! Or is money better than vouchers? Added to some small things to unwrap. I sent her makeup and a cheque for her birthday.

IMO - vouchers. At least if you get her vouchers, you have to go get them, so it will look like you've put some effort in rather than just sending money IYSWIM?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2004 09:39

Yeah, that's usually my thought about money v vouchers. I'll probably go and get new Look vouchers or something - I know she liked their stuff last year. Of course, this year may be different... I do know she sometimes likes to save the money though.

How much do you want to spend? WH Smith have got some nice gift packs for things like cinema tickets, pampering days and so on, they start at about £20.

popsycal · 15/12/2004 10:17

is she into music? how about this subscription to music mag?

I like the bat. he's my friend

littlemissbossy · 15/12/2004 10:20

How about a voucher for her nails doing at a local beauty salon or nail bar?

JaNgLyBELLS · 15/12/2004 10:20

Are we sure he is a bat? he looks like a rabbit - a biker rabbit

have we got crossed threads here?

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 15/12/2004 10:30

No, not crossed threads, just someone trying to catch me out in the puerile game with the bat picture.
