Guess how much Boden is charging for a 6-pack of girls cotton knickers?

Yup, plain old cotton briefs (OK they have spots on them). Same price whether they are for 2 year olds or 12 year olds. What am I bid?

£22

No, that isn't a mistake. TWENTY TWO QUID

That is just bloody insulting IMO. Whole catalogue goes in the bin.

are they what rich peoples children wear? maybe its a class thing?

omg!!! does that mean my sons are common? they wear white boers/y fronts from m&s i thought WE were posh!!!!

Oliveoil · 27/02/2008 15:39

that is a rip off

however, I did see a lot of things in my catalogue which appeared this week, nice dresses and shoes and bags [drool]

am I turning middle class in my old age?

PrincessPeaHead · 27/02/2008 15:39

No Dippy, I am rich. But I am not stupid. It is just an insult

i want £22 knickers tho lololol ......i bet they dont run and the spots stay spotty.

Oliveoil · 27/02/2008 15:43

I love this but £20, H&M do them similar for about a fiver

PrincessPeaHead · 27/02/2008 15:46

They are also doing a 2 pack of girls headbands for around 20 quid and yuo can get exactly the same thing in Monsoon (not known for its rock bottom prices) for £5 ie £10 for 2

I give up on boden

Which considering I have spent at least £600 a year on the Boden kids site for the last 7 years is something. But I won't be treated like an absolute mug.

I only get the Mini-Boden stuff in the sale- they ARE highly over priced but god they take some washing & wearing!!

.....apart from the handwash only stuff- life is too short to handwash!!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 27/02/2008 16:23

PPH - I agree, just because I could pay £22 for pants doesn't mean I will. I won't pay £50 for cow-print boots either.

Gymboree knickers are much better. Stock up whenever you're in the states. Boys pants are fab. 3 pairs for $12.

Mercy · 27/02/2008 16:25

How much

I pay about £3 for 5 pairs in M&S!

Tortington · 27/02/2008 16:34

its deffo worth it, its better cotton

that is outrageous for socks (and boxers come to that) - Johnny Boden is having a laugh is he not ?

holey shit. 24 quid for 3 pairs of socks ha ha ha ha ha

geekgirl · 27/02/2008 16:48

at socks and boxers

How much of a mug do you have to be to spend that much on those things?

socks are the only thing I brave the revolting Next for. 5 or 7 pairs in a pack for a fiver and they are perfectly good. They are SOCKS fgs
good tip about gymboree, thanks, will remember that!

I was flicking through the Brora catalogue today and saw a gorgeous cashmere cutesy outfit for a newborn. £79 for the cardi and £69 for the leggings. Holy sh*t.

And how many times would handwash the baby sick off it before you got thoroughly p*ssed off with it and threw it in the bin?

Earlybird · 27/02/2008 17:21

Yes, Gymboree very good for knickers. They charge $12 for 3 pair, iirc. Haven't seen any plain white pants there, but the patterns/colours are cheerful and not objectionable.

When your child is cartwheeling across a deserted beach with her tousled blonde hair tumbling around her ears and a punch and Judy stall in the background, you might be glad that you can see a pair of spotty (bound to be) bodens covering her privates rather than grey bhs ones.

Have you thought of that?

pointydog · 27/02/2008 17:33

I really don;t like Gymboree. I thought it had closed down. Odd stuff.

Blu · 27/02/2008 17:36

yes, but 7 for £1.50 in Asda presumably has implications for some child elsewhere in the owrld, who is NOT cartwheeling across a Cape -Codesque beach.

bellabelly · 27/02/2008 17:38

LOL pointydog, your post made me snort!

pointydog · 27/02/2008 17:38

well, cheap knickers don't always mean child slavery.

Being creeped out by Johnny Boden can't be much fun either
