Technological phobic here.

I bought an MP3 player which was £15 and don't know what to do with it.

Was kind of thinking, download songs from the internet, maybe? Or even from my own LPs/converted to disc, but what do I need to do?

Can anyone give me very simple instructions, please?

Thankyou

Ps it has a little socket thingy to attach to the computer. Like the camera does.
Can't remember what it is called...

It is also pink and looks like a triangular lipstick.

Quite nice really.

I download my CD's onto the computer (stick them in the disc drive and they seem to start up all by themselves). Once they are copied onto the computer you can plug in the MP3 player through the USB port (the little socket thingy) and copy the CD onto the MP3 player.

You will probably need to download Real Player or Windows Media Player or something similar, although if I remember rightly, once you put the CD in the drive and 'run' it, the computer will prompt you to download something. You might already have it on you PC.

Not sure of all the ins and outs as I am not much cop at it either but that is what I do. I don't bother downloading stuff off the internet as I still have loads of CD's which I don't listen to enough and I still want to be able to play those in the car which you can't do with a download unless you have a very fancy car stereo.

Oh, you have my old one!

Really simple once you get going.

Either you can download songs from the internet, or put your CDs in the disc drive of your computer and then use the software that comes with the MP£ player to transfer to the player via the USB connector that should be in the removable end bit

You should be able to get around 50 tracks on it without too much bother, and the software should walk you through it.

HTH

Like the sound of a pink one by the way!

I could do with a new one as something odd has happened to mine and all the menus on the screen suddenly seem to have changed themselves to Chinese. Not being particularly fluent in Chinese I can't change the language setting back to English so the thing is pretty much useless! I'm not sure it is working properly anyway but who knows what I am doing when I think I am pressing 'play'

If you don't have the disc that comes with it (if you bought it 2nd hand) I can send you mine

Is there anywhere else to get music from apart from Tesco who don't have the tracks I want or Itunes who won't let me download it from my computer onto the MP3 player without it going via a CD??

bratnav · 27/02/2008 14:54

Um, I know lots of sites but I am not entirely sure they are legal

Try thepiratebay.com, but I didn't tell you that!

Furball · 27/02/2008 14:55

it's alright bratnav - I never read it

Flllightattendant · 27/02/2008 14:56

Oh flip, there is a disc...why did I not register that! It is with the instructions I think. I had a quick read and it just said something about it not working if you don't do such and such with the sons you download, at which point I gave up

Thankyou so much for your replies, looks like I will be able to use it after all!

MN is brill

Sons?

I have enough of those already...

Downloading baby boys through a USB

Now that would be something

Can you get hold of old eighties tracks etc?

This is why I bought it.

I like the idea of downloading baby boys - a lot less painful than going through labour.

Now if I could do a baby girl as well that really would be handy - I haven't got one of those so it would be a novel experience!

Try this for downloads

Don't know how it is rated for price though.

Ooh thanks Niecie!
