push-on night lights/comforters

hi, my son has started turning on his light in the middle of the night. i've read that it can be bad to have a light on when you're sleepng. Does anyone know, do the push-on night lights/comforters turn off after a few mins or does it stay on until pushed again? many thanks

don't want to scare monger, but did hear there might be link to cancer if sleep with light on. not sure if proven, but something to do with body not being able to go into deep enough sleep to repair itself. thanks for advice about light.

that's crazy, lots of people would have been affected if that were the case.
