How does product recall work?

Found out today that the bluebell monitor is now being recalled. We purchased in 2020 for £299 at john lewis. Apparently all products between 2019 and 2023 are recalled. So how does this work?

Do I just take it back to John lewis? Because I don't have a receipt, I do have the bank statement but how do I prove that's the item I purchased??

I’ve got the same issue, purchased form John Lewis but haven’t kept the receipt. Did you contact them? Im going to call tomorrow and ask what to do as the monitor is now useless. I will let you know if I have any luck 😊

I printed out the bank statement and took it back and fot a full refund for price at the time if purchase. This was in Saturday at Cribbs Causeway. Took around 5 staff and about half an hour to sort it though.

Thanks so much for letting me know. I’m glad you got your money back. I don’t even have the statement as my mum bought it, I’ll ask her if she can look it up 😊

I’m going to John Lewis tomorrow to do this and am in the same situation as you were with no receipt but just my bank statement as proof. Do you mind me asking why it was so tricky? I’m not good at these sort of situation 😂

@Hollyg90 I think it was just the staff had no real idea what to do. So went to baby section that sent me to customer services, who then tried to send me back to baby section. She then got another member of staff that got another member of staff. I eventually played them the voice mail I got from customer services to say just take it back with the bank statement and they finally put it through for me.

Hopefully will all go smoothly for you, but if there are any questions just call john lewis customer service number.
