Recommendations for carpet cleaners/vax machines

Need to buy one. Carpets are filthy. Can anyone recommend a good one?

I have 2 different Vax's but still hire out the Rug Doctor once a year and clean the carpets with that.I honestly think it can't be beaten and only costs about £30 for the day.
