Phil and Ted's stroller

Does anyone have the Phil and Ted's stroller that converts to a double? I'm trying to decide whether to get it or a standard side by side. Concerns are: 1) appears to be no sunshade for the back seat, 2) will kid in the backseat get splashed by puddles. 3) view for the kid in the backseat, 4) back seat doesn't appear to recline. Any perspectives on these things? How does everyone like this stroller? Thanks!

I made a general inquiry re buggy boards, v's double strollers in a local independant baby shop the other day(as thinking about attempting no2 sometime next year) and the lady who owned the shop recommended the sidebyside for ease of manoveribility, said the front/backseat versions were harder to manouvre, get up kerbs etc, especially when dd1 gets heavier.....she said if at all poss, to get a buggy board, so long as dd1 is over 2, which she will be by then (she'll be well on the way to 3 argh!)

Whats your situation? we have one on order as we have a 13 month old and another due in april. we have done a bit of research into various options and Phil+Teds seemed to be the best one for us {god i hope we were right!}

Loads of them here in NZ. I don't have one, only have 1 ds anyway, but the kids in the back seem to look out the side and seem perfectly happy. The angle of the back seat means it doesn't look as if it needs a sunshade as it is shaded by the top seat IYSWIM. Not sure about the puddles or the recline. I would email them in NZ with your concerns. Usually companies here are pretty good about replying.

we have one. Answers to your queries:

  1. You can get a double suncover like the rain cover if you really need UV protection - but it does kind of black the whole thing out so probably of limited use except for tropical holidays.
  2. Don't have a problem with puddles or with the 'view' - they get used to it and can see plenty anyway
  3. No the back seat doesn't recline but not an issue for us as we don't use the buggy for napping.
