not especially cheap either, a Breville express colour one, purchased end of last June. No receipt but possibly on bank statement

i think a bank statement is enough proof of purchase isn't it?

what is it about kettles - i am on my fourth in just over a year ....

What is it with appliances breaking today,

technically you don't need a receipt if it is faulty to get a refund or exchange. Proof on a statement can help though.

Also helps to go well dressed. I took back a £200 TV with no receipt had abankstatement ready to show them but I was having one of my better days and was well dressed rather than my usual hoddie, jeans and trainers. No questions asked couldn't have been more helpful, didn't even ask to see proof of purchase and carried the new one out to the car complete with a new reciept.
