Britax Evolva 123 car seat - how on earth does it recline?

I've just bought this and as DD doses off in the car a lot I want to be able to recline it but I can't see how it does and there's nothing in the instructions to show me that it does, despite the blurb saying it does.

TIA

If you want to recline it, then you have to do it before fixing it in the car. Underneath the seat there is some sort of handle that you move and it reclines.

As you can probably guess, I haven't reclined it, but know you can. I'm lucky as DS tends to sleep fine with it in the upright position.

Thanks ITD. That's a bit bleedin useless then isn't it. I wish I'd never bought it and now I can't take it back because I had to take off the label that says "take this off and you can't return it" in order to try it out.

The part you need to move flips over. I am probably not making too much sense .

I was just looking on the britax website and they have videos showing how to fit it - if you look here and click on the arrow by user information, you can watch the videos.

You can only do it when you fit it in the car , not in situ. There is a stand that springs forward or back underneath.

can you recline it when just using the adult belt or is it just when using the harness?

IdrisTheDragon · 14/02/2008 15:35

I think it can be reclined when you use the adult belt (DS still in harness part so not quite sure).

LIZS · 14/02/2008 15:36

I've a feeling it has to be used in a particular position with adult belt. Thinking of switching dd so will find out !

CarGirl · 14/02/2008 15:40

thank you I'd appreciate it, what weight of child can you use the harness up until?

LIZS · 14/02/2008 15:40

18kg

ok have converted it - all the harness bits tuck away into the cover/shell so may be a faff to reassemble. Initially for a child under 1.20m you only use it upright, after that you can use the recline. tbh if your rear seats are at any sort of angle it isn't completely upright anyway.
