Help - High Chairs like in the Zoo

My apologies if someone has already covered this but I'm a bit new to Mumsnet (although my DW is a big fan).
I was wondering if anyone was aware of how to get high chairs like the simple wooden ones the they use in a lot of restaurants and cafes. They have them in the cafe at London Zoo, the Honest sausage in Regent's park (also London) and Burger King's all over the place.
Our DD finds them very comfy and we'd love to get one so she can join us at the dinner table but I can't seem to locate one anywhere.

do you mean like the tripp trap? or something like it? tchibo have a cheaper version around £30 i think

MrsDoobaubles · 07/12/2004 12:35

You won't get a tchibo one now. They sold out of them in five weeks in the Springtime - I tried.
I guess you must mean the Tripp Trapp because it is so comfortable. You must expext to shell out over £100 though.
We bought one in the end. Squeezed us but it's worth it! Smile
Check out the archived threads, there is loads on them

Tripp trapp, plus MN comments is \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/s/mn.Highchairs?pid=2\here}

that's awful about the tchibo ones, surely they'd make abomb if they carried on selling them. we have a tripp trap too, they're excellent and a child can use it for years. bet you'd get a good price on ebay for one too when you finally finish with it.

FatDad · 07/12/2004 12:56

Thanks,
The ones in all the cafes are a bit simpler than the tripp trap I think - a bit like a high stool with a bar across the front and a strap. Unfortunately I'm a bit rubbish at describing them.
The trip trapp does sound very good though so we could well try that out.

Do you mean like this?

\link{http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002HV956/002-9416846-3306462?v=glance\wooden restaurant high chair}

Found it by searching 'wooden restaurant high chair' in google. No idea where to get them in the UK though?

FatDad, why not try ringing those places you mentioned? They might be able to give you a number for their HO.

motherinfestivemood · 07/12/2004 13:23

We have \link{http://www.mothercare.com/invt/ls3943&bklist=icat,5,shop,shofeeding,feehighchairs,highighchairs\this one} and can fold the tray back too (although not while child is sitting in it, ahem Blush

FatDad · 07/12/2004 14:00

Thanks everyone,
The link from MoHoHoHo is pretty much exactly what I was after and the others are quite nice looking too.
I still might try giving the zoo a bell as well just in case.

Cheers
