Try small local carpet shops, they are usually much cheaper.

accessorizequeen · 11/02/2008 11:28

I've seen the crucial trading ones in magazines for about £30 square metr so not too pricey.

ROSEgarden · 11/02/2008 13:34

ah, just checked crucial, its stripy colours not rasied stripes like kinda cord..just stripes of colours???

Our little independant carpet warehouse has multi coloured thin stripes on a cream background for £14.99 a metre.

A friend bought a big off cut and they bound the edges for her for £1 a foot to make a rug.

Looks rather nice and a real bargain.

We had crucial trading carpet on the stairs in our last house. We got it from a small local carpet shop. For 34 stairs and 2 landings we paid about £300.
I can't remember the name of the colour of stripes but it was very good at hiding dirt.
I intend to get the same (maybe a different colour if I'm feeling exciting) when we have other things sorted in our new house.

ooh so it is colooured not just textured stripes??..will have to look up smaller retailers near me then, thanks everyone

We were thinking of getting some for our stairs & landing so that's good to know ThingOne, hiding dirt I mean!

Pannacotta · 11/02/2008 14:46

Doesnt stripey normally refer to coloured stipes (not textured)?
You didnt say you wanted a textured carpet, am confused....

Maidamess · 11/02/2008 14:49

we used these for carpet, they were reasonable and very good

They do have a few stripey designs.

ROSEgarden · 11/02/2008 16:44

Pannacotta, no def stripy pattern, i though crucial was just striped weave..i was wrong.

Maidamess, they look good!, have just emailed asking which colours styles available in stripe..thanks for that and national deliery is cool too!
