Looking for recommendations on everyday tableware, following on from the Do your kids eat off plastic ? thread !

Want something simple but stylish, with blue and/or yellow , not too fashionable, easy to replace broken pieces (have a set from Next from several years ago which was great until bowls/side plates got broken). Don't need mugs, just 6-8 place settings of 2 size plates (smaller about 22cm) and bowls. Like timelessness of Denby but none of their current ranges appeal and they are £££.

Ideas please ! tia

dp likes all matchin g stuff and gets white 'classic' (always produced) villeroy and boch stuff.. from outlet shops. was one in swindon but apprently its not there anymore.

the basic/classic styles from big major chains are likely to be produced for years (and so easily replacable) john lewis, M&S, habitat, that sort of thing ( i would imagine)

personally i like all mismatched collections of plates and bowls, chosen coz they are liked and gotten cheap from junk shops, pottery shops on holidays, the odd more 'spensive thing thrown in coz its irresistable...

I used to owrk in the industry so know how easily these patterns can come and go, especially from Far East, but hadn't thought of Habitat and M and S.
