we bought the new loola (loola up) at weekend and its fab all the bad things about the Loola have been changed. Of course i haven;t yet used it with a child in but having used a rickety old pliko for the last 2 years its got to be better!!

Legoleia · 05/02/2008 09:51

We were torn but the things that swung it for us are:

  • the Hauck is enormous when folded whereas the Loola folds much much smaller

-You can fold the Loola no matter which way it faces. The hauck can only be folded when facing away from you.

-When the Hauck is fully reclined, the feet go UP, because the seat is moulded, whereas the kiddie's feet would be flat when the loola is reclined.

Can you tell we thought about this seriously? we went and tried them both in real life before we bought. They are both really good looking though, and the Hauck is cheaper!

Legoleia · 05/02/2008 09:56

AND there are lots of carseats that fit the Loola!

the hauck is very stylish though!

Susiemj · 05/02/2008 09:58

i've got a hauck and ilike it. very nippy. didn't look at loola.

Pannacotta · 05/02/2008 10:01

Loola definitely for all the reasons Legloeia gives...

LadyVictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 10:12

Hmmm. I thought you could only use the loola carseat?

I've got a loola. Loved it at the beginning, the windoo was fantastic and we used that as ds's bed for about 4-5 months. Loved the car seat, although it's really hot in the summer. I havent' been as keen on the seat.

My main gripe is that it's got two handles so you have to push with both hands, which is a pain when shopping, I also found the handles uncomfortable on long walks. It can be a bit tricky to get up kirbs, especially when facing backwards. I ended up buying a micralite when ds was 9 months and have used that since.

If the infinity has been out when ds was born I'd have bought it. hth

LadyVictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 10:20

I think I prefer the look of the infinity, It's just whether when it folds down size will be an issue.

oohh the new loola has a proper handle. That was my biggest gripe tbh.

Susiemj · 05/02/2008 14:53

someone's selling a loola here - pink

geordiemacminx · 05/02/2008 15:26

Loola - so easy to fold, and as everyone has said you can fold it with the seat facing you - very useful when its pissing down and you need to get baby in the car, then take the seat off,put it in the boot to stop it getting wet/dirty, fld the chassis, take seat out, out frame in then out seat back in - you'd be soaked

Walnutshell · 05/02/2008 15:30

We bought a Loola. Not terribly easy to manouevre IMO. And wheels stick out beyond frame making it clonk on everything. Or is that just me?

VS, since when did you become a Lady?

Walnutshell · 05/02/2008 15:31

manoeuvre

Sigh.

Susiemj · 05/02/2008 15:39

that wheel thing walnutshell mentioned happens with the hauck too.

VictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 15:59

2shoes gave me a title when I told a Hun to fuck off
I've put it in the cupboard for now, til I'm feelign righteous.

I think I'm going for the infinity, not least because I just found an excellent package and least that way if I don't like it I can just sell it on and not be too bothered.

I'll probably end up doing that by about nine months anyway and getting a cheapo stroller!

geordiemacminx · 05/02/2008 16:03

vs that one is only suitable from 6 months - do you already have a carry cot for it?

VictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 16:04

The car seat is suitable from birth, and as I'll either be using a bus with a sling or the car with the car seat it's fine.

Walnutshell · 05/02/2008 16:16

If you sell it on you may need to venture onto the Hun boards... can you cope?

VictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 16:19

I'll namechange too Mummy23darlinbootifulweewuns, I'll be fine

Susiemj · 05/02/2008 16:37

there's also this offer if you want the carrycot.

VictorianSqualor · 05/02/2008 16:40

Yeah, I saw that susie, but no raincover or carseat or footmuff etc with it, I dont think I'd ever use the carrycot tbh.

luvvmykidzz · 05/02/2008 18:18

see you on the boards hunni xxxxx
