My dp would like to get one but i think i'd miss all my soaps as i'd be watching new baby all night

No, seriously, i don't know what i think. Still in two minds really!

I'm thinking of it as DS constantly sits up when we put him down - I'd like to see if he's able to lay himself down again when we leave the room!!

Anyone actually got one??

saintlysecur · 02/12/2004 13:38

sorry, havn't got one, have got a monitor but don't turn it on. I established early on that I could hear dd from downstairs. I feel that with a new baby personal time is little enough without constantly watching them on the telly too! (can you tell I have had 4!!)

To my mind they are a salesmens dream-grasp at the fears and insecurities of mums of new babies and make an absolute fortune in the process! (but maybe I am jsut jaded!)

fair enough saintly! Just an option in our war against sleep deprivation ...

andaSOPPYnewyear · 02/12/2004 17:13

Does nobody have one of these?

andaSOPPYnewyear · 03/12/2004 16:07

??

saintlysecur · 03/12/2004 17:05

(did I come across a bit strong there?) certainly didn't mean to sorry-they are, I am sure, fine if you like that kind of thing-I just don't like the expensive baby stuff

appologetic bump!!

don't worry saintly, you have a point! and I'm not that touchy

I know someone who has two, for each of her DDs.

She has discovered interesting things, like sometimes DD1 wakes up and gets up and plays for a while in the dead of night and then gets back into bed and goes back to sleep!

Another friend has one set up in the living room, so when she goes off to the kitchen, she can still keep an eye on what is going on! It's quite funny, cause you get to watch the kids playing without them knowing!

There are times when I would love to check on mine without risking waking them by going into their rooms (noisy doors and such).

However, most of us get by without them.

I think kiddicare.com do them...

Thanks Catbert. Anyone know any recommended models?
