BEWARE - Your Money's at Risk with Furniture Village if you change your mind after 48 hours!
My poor folks bought a coffee table instore that had a 5 week deliver date. Then their financial circumstances changed so they needed to cancel the order. They were staggered to learn that there was a 25% penalty charge against the £638 they had paid. Furniture Village would keep £149 of their money as they were cancelling the order after 48hours but still within 28 days normally allowed by most retailers. At no time during the instore sales process had my folks been told of any 25% penalty charge. The coffee table is mass produced and not a bespoke item - so why the penalty charge? Apparently it's company policy on ALL orders???
