boy or girl?

Twinklemegan · 27/01/2008 00:28

You could knit one in a couple of days. The bobble would take a couple of hours to make maybe?

Disenchanted · 27/01/2008 00:29

like that?

colditz · 27/01/2008 00:30

Age Concern.

Twinklemegan · 27/01/2008 00:31

That is one big pom pom!

RGPargy · 27/01/2008 00:31

That's the stuff, Disenchanted. Might need 3-6 months now tho, i'm thinking. DD is 7 weeks and is hardly in any of her 0-3 stuff these days. Mind you, for that price it wouldn't hurt to buy it!

I could knit one, but a) i dont have a pattern b) i threw all my needles out yonks ago and c) i remember how they taught us to make pom poms at school with two circular bits of cardboard with a hole in the middle!

Find out if there is a W.I. market or stall in your town and if they don't have one (a bobble hat) I'm sure one of the ladies will soon have one run up for you.

Twinklemegan · 27/01/2008 00:36

Oh damn, I was looking for a photo of DS in the one I knitted him. But the only one is Compo style before I attached the bobble. Still, I could send you the pattern if you let me have your email address (I've still not paid a CAT subscription ).

RGPargy · 27/01/2008 00:40

Oh brilliant thanx TwinkleMegan. Is it a simple pattern tho? It's beena while since i knitted anything.... I wouldn't want anything complex (i.e. anything past knit or pearl) lol!!

etsy like this www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=8986328

Twinklemegan · 27/01/2008 00:42

Weeell, it's got a bit of cable in it. I suppose that might be a faff, what with having to get a cable needle and what not. I'd offer to do one for you, but I haven't any spare wool hanging around and by the time I'd got some and knitted it you'd be cheaper getting one off Ebay.

RGPargy · 27/01/2008 00:45

Ooohhhh sounds a bit too complex for me to attempt right now. I think i've knitted cable before, but as I said, it's been YEARS (probably about 20??) since i picked up some knitting needles lol. Thanx anyway tho - i'll keep an eye out on ebay.

RGPargy · 28/01/2008 10:46

accessorizemybaublessanta · 28/01/2008 22:46

Oh, well. How about this one or I don't suppose this would do but v.cute!

kitbit · 29/01/2008 11:21

try Gap! They had some lovely cream arran-stylie ones in very soft wool with a T shirt material lining. It was very cosy and non-sweaty and ds looked gorgeous in it

ThePettyandIllinformedGoat · 29/01/2008 11:22

www.brora.com and they are such a bargain!

RGPargy · 30/01/2008 17:03

brora.com is a whiskey auction website lol. The stuff on brora.co.uk however is quite pricey! I dont think my DD is fussy if the hat is cashmere or acrylic.

Did you like either of the links I just posted, first one v.cute (but £14, bit cheaper than brora though).

RGPargy · 31/01/2008 09:15

Yes accessorize, the first link is lovely!! Think i might indulge......

accessorizemybaublessanta · 03/02/2008 20:39

Oh yes, do. I'm dying to have another so I buy all the cute hats I saw on my googling...
