Any problems. I am switching from Tiscali.

Just looked recently, it seemed expensive. Why are you moving from Tiscali?

VanillaPumpkin · 20/01/2008 16:56

They only want £25.95 for 8mg unlimited boradband inc evening and weekend calls and line rental. I end up paying £35ish with Tiscali at the moment. £17.99 for broadband and calls but then line rental and 0871 numbers etc bump it up. We also lost our broadband for a while due to a broken modem router and their customer services was absolutely appauling to say the least and cost me a lot in calls to a useless technical centre who lied to me on several occasions and took nearly a week to get a call back . I don't mind the lack of broadband. That is one of those things. I was v angry with the way I was treated.

I was looking at low usage broadband, and the PO was expensive for that. Your experience of Tiscali is worrying, it's one I'm considering, along with BT.

we have recently changed to the PO and are not happy. Got a letter and email telling us our "go live" date, spent all evening wondering why it wasn't working as per the idiot guide. After waiting 45 minutes on the phone it was finally answered and we were told "oh we are too busy so will be doing yours on Monday (4 days later)" Asked why didn't they email us to tell us and they said quite seriously "oh yes we could have but we didn't think of it"

Now we have it working but I've just discovered that a lot of the emails being sent to me aren't arriving.

A couple of friends moaned that I never replied to their emails anymore! That when it was discovered so I emailed all friends and it turns out quite a lot of emails in the last week haven't got to me.

So I wouldn't recommend them at all. Am very disappointed.

Oh no .
To be fair to Tiscali we have had a hassle free 2 years, although we did have problems connecting every now and then and we pay for 'up to' 8mb and get approx 3.2 but it is the same price as there 2mb so we have never complained.
I think they are all the same. All fine as long as no problems, but shocking customer services when there are .
I sent an email complaining and after a week they offered me a £20 credit on my bill so that was something I suppose.
We can't get Sky and BT is too expensive. We can't get Virgin either. What are the other options?
So Mrs Weasley were you without Broadband in that time? Presumably your old provider had stopped?
We use gmail so would hopefully be ok with any emails...

Just got back from helping a friend set up Postoffice Broadband - what a crock of s**t - sure the broad band went on ok but they are appear to be running their email system on on old Spectrum - or even worse the original mail servers that Freeserve threw out !!

Their email system is a joke - the password they give does NOT authenticate - their own site home page times out - worst of all you cannot contact Tech Support them because you cannot use you email to do it!!

When we eventually got through to Tech Support we were told that ? eveything was working OK but and we should use another web based email account to send a test email to set up the Mypostoffice email account ??? Why ??

Like fools we used my own web based company email account to send a test email to my friends new account - you guessed it - it did not work - Narda Nothin Zilch?

About as much use ?..[ insert as appropriate ]

POSTOFFICE INTERNET IS A VIRTUAL SERVICE PROVIDER - THEY BUY TIME AND SERVER SPACE FROM BT - BUT IT IS BT'S CHEAPY CHEAPY NASTY SERVICE - DO NOT SIGN UP WITH POST OFFICE BROADBAND UNTIL THEY SORT IT ALL OUT - IT IS LIKE FREESERVE ALL OVER AGAIN - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
