Special needs car seats

Our 1yr old baby has special needs and one of the symptoms is a sweating back. Does anyone know where we can get a car seat that has a ventilator built into the back? We have heard that they are available but can not find a supplier.

Have you tried asking social services ? My son is disabled and is getting specially adapted highchair, seat and bathing seat from social services via his physiotherapist. If you have no physio then I would suggest asking the paediatrician or health visitor if they know. Social services is not only for people on low incomes , they are responsible for these sort of practical issues. Where I live in Surrey they have a disability register, and that comes with a big fat folder full of info about where to get specialist equipment, holidays, playgroups etc, so maybe they have the same thing in your area. Hth.

As far as I know it's possible to get one on a group 0 carseat- ie:up to 9 months ish- but I'm not sure if you can get them on the carseats for bigger kids. I do know someone who may know and I'll ask her when I see her...

Thanks for the help and advice. I have been away from the site for a while and it's good to see that it is still as active & lively as usual.
