Is it true that the child in the rear seat could get their fingers caught in the wheels?

And, while you're here (assuming anyone answers this) and other bad points you'd care to share?

Thank you.

The new ones have wheel guards on to stop mud coming up and fingers going in

MrsKitVonD · 16/01/2008 19:03

I think they are fab, only problem WAS that the back seat didnt recline, but now on the sport it does!

I love my sport! but have to sell it as DS1 walks everywhere now and i cant justify a double!

LynetteScavo · 16/01/2008 19:04

You can get mudguards fitted. My DC's have never got their fingers caught, but did get dirty hands from touching the wheels before I fitted the mud gaurds.

TheBlonde · 16/01/2008 19:04

the harnesses are rubbish

BroccoliSpears · 16/01/2008 19:06

I may be in the market for a 2nd hand P&T y'know MrsK...

Thank you for mud guard advice. V useful.

i think the harnesses are greta, they are the only ones my lil houdini hasnt been able to escape from!

Though the 'crotch piece' (lol) does come up really high on little ones.

But i dont see it as a problem.

If you are considering one ill give you my email, ill probably be listing on ebay with about a week

easy for a child to undo
on the new model you can't adjust the height of the straps on the second seat

the second seat reclines in the new version but if your 2 yr old is tall like mine you can't recline it as they hit their head on the metal

but I need a narrow double and it does the job

MrsDandOllie · 16/01/2008 19:15

My 2 year old cant un do the straps (and he can un do most things!!)
Have got the old version myself. Havent got the mudguards and DS does get dirty fingers from touching the wheels but never put his fingers in the wheels!

BroccoliSpears · 16/01/2008 19:22

Is this your P&T Mrs K?

Agree that harnesses are rubbish - the straps seem to be made for chewing (both mine chomp avidly) and the straps are so long that there is yards of it left for them to chew (even for my very tall 3yo). Have partially solved this by using those strap guards you get for car seat straps, but 'tis a pain.

Also, the fact that there are 4 clips to do up per child seems excessive - neither of my previous prams had this, but still managed a five point harness. The around the waist straps do seem to get rather lost under the child when trying to put them in as well.

I thought you could adjust the straps on the second seat, but I am not the most observant of people.

agree that the recline on the second seat is for younger babis only. Dd2 is 11 months and tiny, and I can't see us being able to use the recline for much longer.

All in all, though, these are little niggles (and to be fair I had them about previous prams too (M&P Pliko and Inglesina Otutto) and I wouldn't be without mine.

My biggest regret is the loss of rear-facing for dd2, but you can get good eye contact with the one in the lower seat - dd2 has perfected the cheeky upward grin!

bigshopper · 16/01/2008 21:08

I like it cos can fit all 3 kids in, no trouble for long walks (ds 1 on top with ds3 on lap and ds2 on bottom) and it's small and easy to push. Big risk of dog poo from road to wheels to fingers for bottom child though

MrsKitVonD · 16/01/2008 21:21

Yup thats mine

MrsKitVonD · 16/01/2008 21:25

Oh just read that thread

I wasnt 'banned' for ripping anyone off I just didnt pay the £30 buisness fee to mumsnet when i sold 'new items'.

Everyone who bought one off me recieved them, and i offered to pay the £30 fee to mumsnet too.

Just so you dont think Im a scammer or anything, alot of people would vouch (sp?) for me

BroccoliSpears · 16/01/2008 21:43

Oh I remember that issue. No worries. Didn't think you were a scammer.

Right. Am now town between a P&T double and a Jane Powertwin.

Will be going to Mothercare to check them both out this weekend I think, and will pay special attention to the P&T straps.

if child is in rear but front is empty, stroller tips back.
