no take along thomas trains don't fit on the wooden tracks, only the wooden ones do. sorry. it's expensive isn't it?

Dropdeadfred · 16/01/2008 17:51

Don't buy any sets..we bought the funfar and another one at christmas and the quality is crap and the track keeps breaking apart...

tassisssss · 16/01/2008 17:59

if it's the wooden stuff you have the best thing is to get all the track and rail bits in either tesco or asda and to get your LO one or 2 wooden "thomas trains" which you can get in ELC or Toys r us. If you're lucky you'll get them on a 3 for 2. Ebay's worth a look too but often not a big lot cheaper.

LazyLinePainterJane · 16/01/2008 18:28

I bought some of those take-along trains foolishly thinking they would fit on other, non-TTTE track. Silly me!

So if they don't fit on TTTE track and they don't fit on normal track, what do they fit on?

yellowbean · 16/01/2008 18:35

am i being really thick or is all the ttte stuff really confusing? so to fit on wooden tracks... ours are the tesco similar ones i think... am i looking for brio ttte? they dont make them any more?

OP posts:
tassisssss · 16/01/2008 18:41

yellowbean, the TTTE trains stocked in ELC (think the make might be learning curve) will work on cheap wooden track.

i think the take along thomas work on Tomy track (plastic) but not sure.

nannyL · 16/01/2008 18:46

we have some take along thomas and it works on out mix of brio / tesco / ikea / elc track

CorrieDale · 16/01/2008 18:50

Ebay isn't a bad source - you can get new and second hand wooden Thomas much cheaper than in the shops.

yellowbean · 16/01/2008 18:52

our track is the one from argos... beanstalk is the make, looks likeall the other wooden tracks so guess its the same?
Nannyl.. is your track wooden?

beautifuldays · 16/01/2008 19:35

ok the thomas stuff....

there is the wooden brio/tesco esque track which fits the wooden thomas trains sold in early learning centre and toys r us

there is take along thomas (small metal trains) which fits on take along thomas track

there is tomy thomas which fits on the blue tomy track

none of them are interchangeable. it is very confusing non?!

tutu100 · 16/01/2008 19:38

There is also the ertl thomas trains, they are not made anymore but are on ebay and look very similar to the take along thomas do not get confused

yellowbean · 16/01/2008 20:11

OP posts:
beautifuldays · 16/01/2008 20:12
