DD is 2.5 and has been using a ready bed when we stay with my parents.

She loves it, mainly because it's pink, but she really doesn't sleep wonderfully in it because it's so much narrower than a single bed (which she's used to ). She wakes up a couple of times in a night, but then it could be because she has to share with ds -- he might be disturbing her too.

When me or dh have gone to her in the night, she seems to have rotated herself around til she's hanging out of the sides. In a normal bed she would still have space.

Tbh - it would be fine for a few nights - I could just have a restless sleeper!

We initially bought a ready bed for DS but it got a series of punctures - not very robust for putting on the floor... We then got one of these Aerobed from John Lewis - it's a proper size, and has a sort of rim around the top to dissuade kids from rolling out. It seems sturdy, but we always put a spare blanket on the floot underneath it in case of stones or sharp tiles etc.

It's been great so far, although it is quite expensive - I'm sure we paid £69, not £49 which it's on at now, but then we've been quoted at least £10 a night for a rollaway bed in some hotels (Sheraton Algarve-miserable gits) so it pays for itself that way...
Hope this helps!

Both mine have readybeds that they sleep on when they go to my Mums, or we use for sleepovers. I got them on offer at Vertbaudet.
