We just got home from Sainsburys with a Lightsabre (£7.99) which is plastic with a sort of extending blue 'beam' also made pf plastic iyswim.

Ds gave the packet to the man to throw away, as he opened it at the checkoput, and now we are struggling to suss out whether it does anything like lighting up or not, and also where to put the batteries if it has any!!!

Can anyone please help us out?

TIA!

it's one of these

Didn't realise it was reduced so much!

Where the heck do the batts go!

ds had one of these (but it didn't cost that much!)

There is a tiny little button on the handle, it is almost flush with the handle itself so is really difficult to find and the whole thing lights up. Tis quite good.

They are surprisingly sturdy as well, but don't react well to being thrown on a coal fire so you might want to stop your ds from doing that

Thanks squonky!

LOL!

How do you get the batts in though? any idea?

I didn't think it had changeable batteries as ours was so cheap.

Also, ds erm... shall we say disposed of his before the batts ran out so can't help on that score. Sorry

Thanks anyway pet. Still looking for that button

Just had a closer look at your link. I think we bought the cheap, knock off version so I've probably given you crap information that is simply not true. If I were you I would give up looking, start a new thread from which I am barred and hopefully someone will tell you the truth on that one

merryberry · 15/01/2008 15:50

erm, aren't you supposed to just stare heroically into middle distance and 'feel the force'?

FlllightAttendant · 15/01/2008 15:56

pmsl. I think ours is the knock off too, sq.
cant think why the heck it was 7.99 if it don't do nothing!

gas fire idea now looking tempting

nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't put it on the gas fire - you'll set the house on fire!

Ours is a coal fire. Not fab for lightsabres, but better than a gas fire.

Best thing is to give it to ds, tell him he must on no account switch it on, as a terrible thing will happen if it gets switched on. Then leave the room.

He'll have it sussed in no time

I know why I love you now squonk!
