What a cumbersome title but as I am using the library computers just now I have little time!
Anyway this is what has happened and I want to know if what I am being told is right and plus, recommended internet providers (I'll name and shame mine!)
Account was in ex-dh's name. I've been cut off at home despite me paying the direct debit they won't discuss or transfer account over to me.
They say - he has to phone, cancel his account and then I have to wait 45 days before I can get back online at home! Is this right? They have left a marker/tag on my line which I can't remove they say he has to phone them (of course he is dragging his heels in doing this!), he doesn't live here and isn't the one whose name is on the phone bill so surely I can sort something sooner?
Help and recommendations much appreciated!
Name and shame - just don't mention Tiscali, they are of no help at all. Having transfered over every other utility to my name this is the first big problem I have encountered and it is very frustrating.
I won't be back online until Wednesday but look forward to the answers!
