Car play mat thingy

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a road mat thing for ds to play with his cars on. They have plasticy ones in ELC and Woollies, but I'm after one like they have at a toddler group we used to go to. It's more like a rug (ie carpet material). Anyone know what I'm talking about?Anyone seen them for sale anywhere? TIA.

Is this the sort of thing you're after, or is it more like this ?
If it's like the second one my local carpet shop used to have them - I can have a look and get you a price tomorrow.

Plan city road mat - John Lewis - £19.95

Do you have a Wilkinsons near to you tassis?
They have them similar to the second one on BadHairs link, but more square.
It is a 'proper' rug, not just a foam backed one.
It costs £10 - bargain!!

Thanks everyone!

Don't think I've heard of Wilkinsons, but I'll see if there's one nearby. Hadn't thought of looking in a carpet shop, thanks for that! Is that Plan City one carpety?

The Plan City one is like a felt mat with lots of roads, parks, things on it. Not like pile carpet but like dining room flat/felt carpet if you know what I mean. You can feel it through the box in JL if you want to.

Homebase were doing them this time last year, so worth trying there. We got ours from a local carpet shop and then found Homebase did exactly the same one £5 cheaper !

Thought I'd update y'all - Homebase do them! Thanks for that suggestion gingernut. I had to go twice because the first time I forgot what I was there for! The second time I had my Mum with me and she's bought it for ds which is great except that she's stolen all my Christmas present ideas! Anyway, it was £15 and it's HUGE. Ds was with us and loved the look of it - he shouted "Cars!" loudly and repeatedly for about 10 mins. I love the fact that I can still buy his presents in front of him. I guess this'll be the las Christmas we can do that.

I've just rung to reserve one at Argos - 2m x 1m £12.99 ! But only available at Argos Extra Stores

Toys r us have them too. We just did our DS playroom and put down a vinyl floorcovering the same as the play mat - big hit - he loves it!! And all his friends.
