Very boring oven question - replace or mend?

I have a built in Neff oven which is at least 9 years old. I've had the fan replaced once about 4 years ago. Now the main oven has fan working, but no heat. Do I call repair man out again or just get a new one? Dh said he doesn't care which I do (helpful), but he seems to think an oven should last 30 years because his mum's did. I think replace as there is a slight problem with the grill as well. I'm so indecisive I don't know what to do.

I brought a new one when ours had a few minor problems aswell as occaiosionally deciding not to turn on!probably about the same age, I love my new oven, its so much better than the old one, I think old ones were built to last, unlike more modern ones (my tumble drier was over 20 yrs old when I replaced it!) get a new one!

Try replacing the element first - its only about £20 (can get them online) and is dead easy to do.

or get a repair blokey out and ask his opinion

and Neff is a good brand isn't it?

just think of all the money you can spend save if you manage to repair it

Aaarggh - one each way! Dh now thinks replace and I'm thinking we could try the element. I'll have a look and see how much they are. The fan is working, just no heat so element looks like a good bet. Unfortunately it's dd1's birthday on Tuesday so I'll be baking her cake in the slightly unreliable top oven!

Oh poo. Just looked in the oven and the element is not obviously on view. Ithas this weird circotherm heating - not exactly sure what it is - and I think element is hidden away somewhere. Rapidly changing my mind to new oven... Thanks for replies by the way.
