my daughter is 4 months old and really hates the carrycot i think because she cant see anything - she loves going out in a sling..

how strict do you think i have yo be with the 6 month rule on the seat if i have a footmuff? she looks safe enough but i am worried it might be bad fr her back.

My son was in the chair of his Frog at about 4 months and there's nothing wrong with his spine/posture. In fact when sitting crossed legged he sits bolt upright (he's now 2.5). Just go with your gut instinct. the only reason all these baby gadgets and gizmos put age limits on it to protect themselves.
