These were selling in Argos, at a bargain price of £29.99 in March 2007. I bought some, but they packed up end of November. I think I must have used them...what! 20 times, max. If that. Anyway Argos replaced them for me yesterday, but told me that 4 were returned in December, and I was the fifth.

Did you buy some, if so, are they OK? - just wondering, thats all.

Do you mean the pro 230 ones? If so, then yes. I bought a set of these in November and they broke the second time I used them. I couldn't find my Argos receipt so I returned them to the manufacturers. I followed it up with a phone all and they told me I would definitely have them back in time for Christmas. I'm still waiting . Some mix up with the couriers apparently. Wish I'd just paid the extra and bought GHD's instead.

Oops, phone CALL, obvioulsy.

Wolfgirl · 08/01/2008 15:36

Yes, sorry 230's. Well, I lost the receipt too, but paid my Visa company £3 for a copy statement for the time I bought them. That was enough for Argos, and they exchanged them straight away. They also agreed, that should they break again, they would give me a total refund, so good on Argos customer service. 10/10!! {smile]

Mmmmm.... GHD's. Ive been lent some from a friend and have yet to try them out. Im hoping I dont find too much difference to be honest, else I will be wailing and gnashing teeth, as I wont be able to afford them.

Sorry you are going through a nightmare time in trying to get them fixed. Did you pay cash for them?

SlightlyMadShrek · 10/01/2008 13:55

I brought some in Oct/Nov ish

Still working

The reviews I read siad they were actually more robust than Ghds which is why I brought them (although the £25 price tag also had something to do with it)

Wolfgirl · 10/01/2008 13:57

ah, well theres some hope then. If these one bust, then I shall get a refund, but the Argos cahp said he'd had a few refunds for same prob, in December.

thanks for responding. xx

Sorry Wolfgirl, I've only just spotted this again. Yes, I paid cash for them. But... good news, the replacement set have arrived from the manufacturers this morning. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet so hopefully they are in perfect working order.

Like SlightlyMadShrek, I actually bought the Babyliss ones because the reviews consistently said they were as good as GHD's but more reliable .
