Slumber Bear - has anyone bought one and do they really help baby to sleep?

I've been thinking about buying a Slumber Bear from the NCT catalogue but they seem fairly pricey, so I wondered if anyone had used one with their DC and if they really helped your DC sleep any better?

My SIL swore by hers and 'insisted' that we use one to try to get DD to sleep when she was tiny. I can't categorically say whether or not it worked for her as she may well have fallen asleep anyway - and she was sleeping pretty well by 8 weeks regardless. It is a nice bear in itself but I'd agree it is quite pricey - would a CD of similar sounds work just as well?

Thanks mejon, I was wondering if the bear was any better than CDs... The thing is that the info on the bear said that it had movement sensors so would turn on when the baby woke up,and as DS is waking every hour during the night at the moment I'm willing to try anything that will let us get a bit more sleep
