Can you recommend any toys or game ideas to keep DS more interested in playing in the water. I am thinking of getting the foam letters from ELC as he likes the mgnetic ones on the fridge, but I wondered if there was anything a bit more 'fun'.

Bath crayons are good. Elc sell them.

He may be a touch young but my ds 3 loves those capsules that you put in and expand into sponges or flannels - dinosaurs, wehicles etc. Need supervision initially then he plays with them after - can stick them to the sides like the foam letters. Actually he has those too and was very into them around 2. We also had the Thomas stick on toy with a slide into the water - used to have it in Tesco.

Mine is same age. Likes playing with:

  • Mummy's breasts
  • bath crayons
  • foam shapes - farm ones and sea ones
  • stacking cups
  • bubbles (if I make a bubble bath)
  • various naked Barbies

Mainly she is happiest if I am in there with her - doesn't ever want to get out!

Oh yeah - he has had the stacking cups since a baby and still going strong - different games etc

jug & a funnel, also we keep empty hand wash bottles and they use them as pumpers and squirters.

Any random bits of plastic you have round the house - I try and change the bath toys/add new ones every week or so.

Tonight dcs had:

  • 3 plastic funnels (79p from Wilkinsons)
  • 3 ice cream tubs
  • 2 small plastic men
  • 2 tupperware tubs

endless games floating men round in the tubs, then sinking them with the funnels

Yesterday we had drinking straws...

Recommend Disney Big Bath Water Colours from Boots - £2.00 for a tub of 20. Don't use them all the time but on a tantrum-y night - can usually distract by letting 2.10 DD decide what colour to have the water. And then all the plastic bottles and jugs have a new lease of life with coloured water to pour. No stains left behind after. And DS's dry skin copes OK with colours,as opposed to bubbles.

Cheap funnels and a plastic jug from Wilcos...what a great bit of advice. DS is now asking to go in the bath all day long.
