They are out of stock at the moment and I REALLY want to get one for our play room which dh and I have cleared out, culled toys from etc but now needs storage urgently (see I know it doesn't sound like a situation that requires the use of the word 'urgent' but now it's sorted I want it to stay like that...ah ha ha ha...) ANYWAY could you just look underneath and see if by any chance it has the manufacturer on it so I can see if I can get one direct from them. I have spent hours on t'internet trying to find anything as nice to no avail. Please, please help me Thanks!

Dont ELC and Urchin do a table like this? Have also seen them on ebay.

Pannacotta · 01/01/2008 13:44

no drawers but you can get the boxes shown for storage

Weegle · 01/01/2008 13:53

which one do you mean? I have the one with tubs under it but I'm not at home till tomorrow but I can check then if that's the one.

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 01/01/2008 14:23

it's this one!

Thanks for the replies (except for you fish face). I've seen that one elsewhere too Pann but it was the gltc one I really wanted I don't live anywhere near the ebay one

You could ask GLTC if they will tell you who makes it (or you could ask the person selling one ebay if no joy here)?
Will from GLTC is often on the boards here answering questions about the 10% MN discount.

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 01/01/2008 17:54

Ah...will keep an eye out for GLTC threads...thanks.

Weegle - is it the same as yours?

Weegle · 01/01/2008 18:11

no, sorry to disappoint! I did um and ar over getting that one, lovely isn't it?!

Bubbaloo · 01/01/2008 18:25

If you were mainly going to use it for storage and as a train table,we havethis one which is excellent and comes with the train set included.

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 01/01/2008 19:17

Bubbaloo - that looks just like the GLTC one but £50 cheaper! Is it solid wood or laminated ?

OP posts:
Bubbaloo · 01/01/2008 20:51

I'm not entirely sure and I can't check as it's being stored at my aunts house while we have our house on the market but it's VERY heavy.Honestly,it's such good value for money and has everything including trains, tracks, bridges,a mountain, people and animals etc...
Only downside is I don't think they deliver and if you don't have a Smyths near you,you might be out of luck.I really don't think you'll find one which is better value for money-ds1 loves it,although is wondering where it is at the moment[bad mummy alert].

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 01/01/2008 21:15

Only downside is we already have all the train stuff but having said that it's still £50 cheaper even witht he train stuff included and we do have one not TOO far away from us. I feel a day trip coming on....

OP posts:
Bubbaloo · 01/01/2008 21:47

Ooooh, excellent stuff. You won't be disappointed and you can never have enough train piece's.
Comes with instructions too, showing how to set the train up as shown in the pic-very easy to do although the actual table took dh a while to put together.

I saw something similar on sale in Woolies the other day - can't remember if there were drawers or not - might be on their website?

pooka · 02/01/2008 10:50

It is made by KidKraft, in Malaysia. There is a phone number on the sticker, but is US number. Have done quick google search but no joy.

SatsumaMoon · 02/01/2008 10:55

This is the one I saw but it is out of stock on the website - doesn't look like there are any drawers underneath

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 02/01/2008 17:27

Thanks Pooka! Hmmmm...Malaysia may be a little far for me to go and pick one up - although I do have family out there

Bubbaloo - went to Smyths today but the tables were laminate rather than solid wood and since ds is quite a rough player I think we may need solid wood .

OP posts:
DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 02/01/2008 17:58

Pooka - is yours solid wood or laminate? I've found a few kidkraft tables on US sites and they seem to be melamine. GLTC assured MIL that their table was solid wood though...

OP posts:
Bubbaloo · 02/01/2008 18:39

Oh that's a shame. They are made very well and ours is still in one piece, but then ds1 hasn't had much time to play with it yet,as it's not here.
Hope you manage to find something just as good.

Bubbaloo · 02/01/2008 18:41

Must admit the table from GLTC looks identical to ours,so I hope they're not fibbing when they say it's solid wood.

GLTC · 09/01/2008 17:01

Hello

The Playtable will be back in stock next week. Not sure who told you it?s solid wood, (was it the Call Centre?) Because it?s MDF with a beach laminate, but it?s really durable, I gave one to my DD?s playgroup last year and it?s held up really well.

If you want a train set we have 2 in the sale that goes with it. See: www.gltc.co.uk/fcp/categorydeptprod/dept/eoss_toys_games?resetFilters=true&sortOrder=awc_dept_eoss_t oysgamessort_order
