Where can I get a child's umbrella?
Fionn · 22/10/2002 23:01
Sorry, me again! I want to buy a child's umbrella this week for a birthday. I've seen the animal ones in GLTC or one of those catalogues but does anyone know of any high street places that sell them? It doesn't have to be an animal - Thomas or Thunderbirds would do. Thanks.

Hi Fionn
You could try Boots - that's where I got my ds's last umbrella. It had Winnie the Pooh on it. If you've got a Disney store near you - they are bound to do something (might be a bit expensive, though).
Have fun.

Woolies sell them priced between three and five pounds, some really nice ones too.

Any chance of getting to IKEA, Fionn? They do - or used to do - the same animal ones as GLTC only for half the price. (But I haven't been for ages so I don't know if they still do them.)

Looked in Tridias today and the ladybird one was 15 quid!! A friend has just bought a Thomas one in Woolies for a fiver so I'll check there. Thanks for all your suggestions. We're not too far from Brent Cross IKEA but of course I can't just go for an umbrella, I'll come back with loads of lovely housey stuff that I don't really need. Though I do need something in which to store my sons' ever-growing collection of swords, various helmets and hats and costumes. And a new laundry bin. And a shoe rack. And a cheese board. Good idea janh!

Can I come too, please, Fionn?
(Only as a cyber-shopper. I have to not go at all because I spend so much when I do....but last time I went we got, amongst a lot of other stuff, the lovely froggy umbrella, and the cat umbrella for a birthday pres, for £4 each, plus a lovely floppy fluffy duck for a friend who is a duck fiend - she has live ones too - there is so much LOVELY stuff there I think you should check it out, just in the interests of research!)
