Dangerous Product Warning: Shnuggle Folding Bath Stand

Hi all. I'm new on mumsnet but wanted to cast as wide a net as possible in issuing a warning for parents about the Shnuggle folding bath stand.

On Friday my wife and I were bathing our LO in our Shnuggle bath placed on the bath stand and the bath just fell through the stand with her still in it; bath, water and baby all crashed to the floor. Thankfully all is well with the LO but a trip to A&E was needed to at least confirm that.

There are lots of reports of this happening to other parents.

We've contacted Shnuggle as we want this product off the market before a baby gets seriously hurt. They responded today that they've added an additional 'safety strap' and went on to say this can only happen when used incorrectly ie they're placing blame entirely at our feet. Which is pretty rich considering how widespread these issues are. We also have zero faith in the strap actually working as they stand by the safety process that allowed this major issue to stay in a widely-used product.

We've also contacted trading standards.

We have no issues with the bath, but it might be worth thinking again about giving this company any of your money given how they treat parents.

Hi everyone, this happened to our baby when she was a month old too. The what to expect thread posted above is about our accident.

Shnuggle tried to place the blame on us too and think the stand can safely hold 100kg which is just not true. They say up yo 6 months on their website but no weight. Our baby was big and we think her weight along with the weight of the water caused the stand to collapse. Shnuggle have blocked us from posting on any of their channels so we have taken to contacting them CCPC here in ireland, Which in the U.K. and we have linked in with the other couple above that this has happened to.

It wouldn’t have happened to the couple above if Shnuggle had listened to us back in July

Hi, this happened to me too. It is beyond appalling that Shnuggle knew of the issue months ago but ignored it. If they had taken it seriously then me, and others, could have avoided a hugely traumatic and worrying incident that could have had catastrophic consequences for our babies.

Has this happened to anyone else on here?
