Children's shoes for wide feet

DD (aged 6) has always had wide feet (usually both feet measuring H width) but today she was measured one foot was still H width and the other was 'off the scale'.

Both Clarks and Russell and Bromley suggest we go up a size to get the correct width.

I'd rather find a specialist who can fit the correct width and length. Or maybe a particular brand that come up wide (we've had Hush Puppies before that came up quite wide).

Does anyone else have the same problem, if so where do you get your shoes?

I clicked hoping you were going o be recommendin somewhere.
Sorry...dd1 had to have bigger size to get the width more than once.
Her feet have slimmed as she has grown and she is now a slinky g-h width at 8!

After I posted it I thought I should have added a question mark so it was clear I was asking.

Pleased to hear your DD's feet have slimmed down, hope my DD's feet do too.

Mine were the same, too.
Some styles in Startright seem to comeup wider.

It is also worth going to an independant shoe shop if you can find one, they sometimes have a wider choice (but more expensive)

She was 7 before she had a choice of shoes. Before that we had to have what fitted.
