What is good for perking up a grey complexion?

I am pale with red blotchy cheeks and freckles (how attractive!)
I have dark brown hair but somehow it only makes me look paler
I have blue eyes
I tried perking up my winter face today and just looked a bit orange - I'd rather look bright.
I don't want to be sparkly or dewy, just brighter.
What is good?

bit of a confused picture

you say you are grey but then go on to say you have red cheeks, and freckles which sounds nice to me.

Whatever you have been using is the wrong colour if you look orange.

Exercise and a decent diet is the first thing that springs to mind or are you after a makeup solution?

Why not try going to a makeup counter and ask for some help.Take a look at the girls at the counter and pick one that doesn't look overly made up .

Bobbi brown
Chanel
Benefit all good ime.

Clarins is also good but I find it too orange for me and I have pale skin and dark hair as well.

I like Clarins Colour Tint which gives a light all-over glow without it being like a heavy foundation.
Plus dh bought me some Touche Eclat for xmas which is amazing get some and will deffo perk up your darker areas

I agree with the Clarins Tint. Looks really natural. I look like the living dead in winter.

another top tip is find out what clothing colours suit you. It's amazing how your skin tone changes just by having the right colour for YOU on.

Well I have red bits to my face, you see...but the underlying skin is kind of greyish in winter - I don't tan easily at all and you can see my veins through my skin - not in a scary way but it contributes to the greyness imo. Also I get very cold and I am sure that doesn't help.

OK I will have a look at Clarins and try to blag a free sample.

I was using Mac concealer - it's fab - but in winter I lose colour so it goes a bit orangey.

A little bit of a lipstick that matches your lips, mixed into a moisturiser, and rouged in.
