I have a wrap sling that I used from birth but now that ds wants up/down/up/down faster than I can get the bleedin“ thing on and off I need something simpler. Ideally something that also folds down nice and small to go in my handbag (the wrap is like a picnic blanket!).

Is he too big for a pouch? I like the look of the mei tai but not sure if it“s replacing like for like as seems very similar idea to a wrap albeit simpler to put on maybe. Are the rings on ring slings uncomfortable?

I haven't tryed a ring sling, but I use a wrap for my baby 7 months and a mei tai, for my 2 yr old as he wants to up down all the time! they are v, easy to put on take off quick, and i've found them comfy for front and back carries! and fits in my hand bag I had a premax baby bag, (like a pouch) and found that really uncomfy with a heavier baby, you can also tie some wraps like a ring sling but without the rings, knot instead, I have seen a demonstration somewhere online but can't remember where! anyway hope that helps

I use a pouch for DD and she is 10 months It's good for a quick fix but I'm not sure could carry her all day in it.
I bought a Mei tai not long ago with a view to using that for longer walks etc

I use my pouch with ds and he's nearly 13 months, well worth it. Exactly what you said, I stick it in my bag and take it everywhere. I have a hotsling, but I notice coories are available from a few more sites now? I'm looking into a mei tai to swap for my ergo now.

maveta - i still us emy wrap the most - i cant quite seem to get C to "stay" in my ring sling. i have a better baby ring sling that you are more then welcoem to try out??

Maveta · 31/12/2007 08:13

thanks WO but I ordered a ring sling yesterday. I think I can return it if it doesn“t suit so will give it a try and see. What do you mean she doesn“t stay? Does it not hold her securely enough?

hmmm...

she wriggles around alot in it - more so than the meitai and tends to slip round on to my hip. grand for when i am planning to do a hip carry but not so grand when i am laden down with shopping and her!!

Ive found the Babasling quite good for my DS, once you have it set up, it works really well and rolls down into its own little carry bag.
