New dining table (maybe seating 8 extending to more, modern)

Hi
I'm after a new dining table...probably seating 8 in 'normal mode' but with extension leaves to seat 12 or even more.

I've seen one in the sale in New Heights that extends to 300cm - how many people would that seat. It's oak and half price!

And are those chunky oak tables that have been the fashion for a while starting to look dated?

Anyone got any suggestions?

Huh I can't find the 300cm one now on their website....biggest would be 270cm with extension leaves.

Anyone know any companies doing similar furniture to New Heights so I can see alternatives?

I will watch this thread - I'm after a similar thing.

is this any use to you?

we have a new heights one, can't find tape measure to check but I think it is 180cm long, it can comfortably fit 8, and 10 at a squash (2 at each end). So I would think 270cm would fit 12 - think 60cm's per person per side, so 270 gives you 5 (x 2) people and a bit of space, plus 1 at each end.
Will try and find tape measure later and post measurements.

Thanks chasing - really appreciate it!
I guess the one I saw yesterday on their website in the sale that was 1/2 price must have sold out and that's why it's not there anymore

Bump....anyone else got any ideas on retailers for nice solid wood modern and big dining tables?

Sorry ds2 was sick and couldn't find tape measure - have now measured - 122cm x 183cm.
Original cals wrong (I was thinking 50cm x 5 = 250 + a bit to spare), but still think you would fit 12 ok.

Thanks chasing! Much appreciated - hope ds2 better
