Where can I buy an extra controller for the Wii? Those damn things are as elusive as Lord Lucan....

I've seen a few sellers on amazon but I'd rather get it from a big retailer where I can get an additional game too. I've been in a couple of 'GAME' type shops the last few days and they don't have any. Sorry for the snoresome question!

Dunno - but if you find some plus nunchuks, I'd be very grateful if you could share!

DANCESwithMrClaus · 28/12/2007 18:36

Yes, I wondered if such a thing existed - a pack with a nunchuk too...I'll let you know if I find one!

Do you know about the Wii Play, which has an extra controller (no numchuk I'm afraid) and a disc of some more sports-type games? sells for about £40 and is reckoned to be good value with the games as well. They are in short supply too I'm afraid but I found one one the shelves at Tescos - for £35.

They seem to be in stock at Amazon at the moment, too

If they've all gone, this place keeps stock updates

InnAFull · 28/12/2007 19:02

Oh I see at Amazon you can buy the Wii play plus a Nunchuk for £54 (free delivery). And they seem to be in stock too.

Not cheap though, this Wii lark, is it! Our best game over Xmas was WarioWare Smooth Moves, lots of tiny minigames (not sport) all rather bizarre but absolutely hilarious and fast and easy even for oldies like me. We liked the tennis too ( from the Sports game.) DD wants to buy another game, anyone got any recommendations? I was wondering about SuperMario Galaxy, love to hear if anyone has tried this (or any others).

We've already got wii play for a spare controller, but we'd like at least one extra controller (one of the mario games requires a controller each rather than being able to swap between you, unlike the wii sports), preferably two (though that gets expensive!). Need one extra nunchuck too

Hulababy · 28/12/2007 19:04

You can buy controllers and nunchucks separately from most game retailers - but stock may well be low for next few weeks after the Christmas rush. You can also buy Play, which comes with a controller - normal retail price is about £35.

juicychops · 28/12/2007 19:05

my local Asda had a load in the other day

DANCESwithMrClaus · 28/12/2007 19:06

Ah..amazon it is I think! Yes I'm looking for games recommendations too. We have the Wii sports (obviously) and SuperPaperMario which I love but doesn't actually use the Wii remote actively(ie having to wave it around) it's more operated in the usual game controller way so it's on it's side most of the time. I quite fancied the SuperMario Olympic games ones. I want 2 player games that you can use the Wii remotes 'properly' - ie throwing yourself about the room - with.

Wii Play, with controller and nunchuck - £54.99 at Game

Nunchuck - £17.99 at Game but out of stock at present

Wii remotes on Play Trade from £35

Keep ringing your local GAME - that's what DH did. He hit lucky with a ''delivery in 20 mins'' got it with Wii Play.

That Wii update site is very good too, provided you have time to sit by the pc watching your email inbox....

Hulababy · 28/12/2007 19:10

Played SuperMario Olympic games this Christmas as my sister has it - we took our controllers with us so could play 4 player with them. It's so tiring and hard workk that game though -my arms hurt the next day!

DANCESwithMrClaus · 28/12/2007 19:23

Is it fun though Hula? An more importantly will I be able to actually beat my dh at any of the events?!

I am rather anti-Wii but have thoroughly enjoyed Wii Play today. I rock at cow racing...

TwoToTango · 28/12/2007 19:44

Not sure if its what you need but this was on hotdeals

Hulababy · 30/12/2007 18:16

Yes Olyppmic Games is fun, although very tiring! DD beat my brother, so it is possible you may be able to beat DH

RubberDuck · 03/01/2008 12:43

Did you find one Dances?

Just went to Tesco to buy some groceries and guess what I found on the shelf... I now have a full complement on controllers!

Didn't even OCCUR to me to check Tesco for stock.

LadyMuck · 03/01/2008 12:46

Olympic Games is good. Super Galaxy is also very playable but you can't seem to do it in 2-player. If you like mini-games then Rayman Rabids is good.
