OK. We have overcome the problem of not having the right batteries on Christmas Day (the horror) but now we have the right batteries and can't make the damn things work. DH has binned the packaging.

I can get feedback from them but you can't hear voices. Is the range just really rubbish (like about 2 foot) or am I doing something wrong?

I have a very unhappy 3yo DS at present!

If anything like the Disney Fairies ones we got last year the range is pretty bad. They work better outside rather than in the house IIRR.

OK - will try outside next!

We got them - and they don't seem to want to work too much, but luckily DS doesn't seem to mind too much.

From what I remember of the packaging, you need to press the yellow button when you talk, but not when you listen. And there's a random Morse Code button as well.

Hope yours work soon.

oh. I don't have a yellow button. Perhaps that is part of my problem!!

We had these too. The range is not excellent and a bit hit or miss - sometimes works better than at other times. our main problem is getting DS (3) to press the button when speaking. He just holds it to his ear like a phone and forgets to press.

Hmm I have bought these for DS1's friend. We are going to give them to him for his birthday this coming weekend..

Should I go and get something else.. they sound like a dissapointment..

thegrowlygus · 29/12/2007 17:42

Well Jen - one has packed in altogether now, so not the greatest toy in the world. We got them for a friend's son too so hope that theirs work better than ours.

In my humble experience of 3 kids and numerous sets of these......they are all SHITE unless you lash out the cash for super duper ones. I avoid now like the proverbial plague.
