Best lightweight stroller for 12mo+

MegBusset · 27/12/2007 16:10

I am fed up with my unwieldy Gecko and want a simple stroller for DS, who will be 12mo soon. Must have a rain hood, reasonable storage a plus, and if it can fold up then so much the better. Price not toooo much of an issue but obv the cheaper the better!

Any recommendations welcome.

Hello,

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing out lightweight strollers and buggies. Here's our round up of the best buggies available to buy now

Hope that helps!

If you don't want reclince maclaren volo but if you do maclaren techno xt, or if you can handle zero suspension one of the other maclarens

nannyL · 27/12/2007 23:11

i vote maclaran volo as well

After days of obsessing and searching online and looking at reviews i bought a chicco ct 0.4 stroller from motehrcare. It's down to £100 with raincover, footmuff, headhugger, shopping basket. The wheels are bigger than a normal stroller so you've got that extra comfort and sturdiness, plus the seat is higher.

or a maclaren tecnho xt. Ive had mine for three years and it's served two kids well in that time.

Bit of a hijack but what does anyone think of the Maclaren Quest? I've just ordered one-bit of an impulse shop!!

lazarou · 28/12/2007 12:03

If you go tot he mothercare website and look up the pushchair, there are usually lots of reviews underneath it from people who have bought it. Otherwise google 'maclaren quest reviews' There is a site called ciao [sp?] that has lots of reviews on it.

I have been looking at the Techno actually, as according to the shop asst the Volo has a mesh back which might be an issue in wet/cold weather. Has anyone got a Techno?

Oops I mean Triumph not Techno (Techno is a bit more than I wanted to spend really).

there's a techno in the nest sale, £120 here

am thinking of this for ds, can't decide!

Eddas · 28/12/2007 13:46

NEXT not nest

nannyL · 28/12/2007 13:49

have used a volo and a techno and a quest and a triumph... the volo is by far my favourite especially at pushing!

(and most other maclarens as well)

actually IF my bosses have another baby im going to order ask politely for a volo for my car instead of the techno xt which just drives me mad!
