Suggestions for good card making software?

Looking for something that I can use to print cards (eg thank yous) with a photo on the front so software would help with positioning, borders and text - any recommendations?

We made our new year cards using Word.
It worked fine by importing the photo and adding text using text boxes.

I'm sure there's more professional software out there though.
