Cleaning a Wii

The boys' Wii console has suddenly started playing silly buggers. It will play Gamecube games without any problem, but keeps freezing with Wii games. They've received some new games for Christmas and are obviously frustrated that they can't play them.

Does anyone know if there is the equivalent of a head cleaning tape/disc for Wii? Or, if it isn't a question of cleaning it, what might the problem be and how to solve it? TIA.

My DH suggests trying a normal CD head cleaner, failing that, try giving the vents at the back a hoover, you'll be amazed at what gets sucked into those vents

Tried both of those without success - but do thank DH for me!

Have ended up having to send the whole thing off to Nintendo customer services as it looks as though it needs a repair.

Silver lining is that the boys have all buggered off round friends' houses so they can use their Wiis leaving me with a very quiet and peaceful house .
