bugaboo vs a maclaren

now i LOVE my bugaboo, but have been considering getting a maclaren i like the brown an pink.

with a 14 wk old and a two yr old to chase i thought it may be more practical.

has anyone changed to maclaren from bugaboo? can you tell me how you found it?

i am guessing i will regret it? with my bug i can have dd face me and clip her car seat on with ease. is it going to be a price factor only here?

I think you will regret it, bug is so much easier to push one handed and still light with a buggyboard on it. Plus the cot part is much cosier for over the winter and the shopping basket far more accessible & bigger

Santasmissyontheside · 22/12/2007 09:36

thought so. did you get clips by the way? i managed to post them the thurs

not turned up yet, perhaps in todays post (if it ever comes) I used a lascal 3g on my frog and it was fab.

Santasmissyontheside · 22/12/2007 09:46

i have the bug board and dd wont get on it and i waddle. ebay me thinks!

im waiting on lots of post that has not arrived

that's why I think the 3g is much better once in pushchair mode you can attach it right up to the frame and it's not in the way at all unless you are 6' tall with huge feet (and that's on a frog even more room with a ca I should think). My dd2 didnt like buggy boards until she was older so may be worth having a break and then trying again.

I think the only pluses for the macclaren, other than the price, are how easy it is to fold & how small it folds. They are solid.

We have two techno xts & they are great but....

If I were you, I would wait until your two year old is a bit older.

We use macclarens for travelling & for public transport.

CG is right pushing a Macclaren one handed is very hard & it will be harder for you because you expereinced the bug first.

ok tharts great thanks. it was just a thought but think i would cry w/o the bug

The clips have just arrived - what do I do with them? They must have to go on the foam bit?

Santasmissyontheside · 22/12/2007 11:07

I love my Maclaren- my last one got stolen the day before yesterday and I went out to buy a new one and ended up buying another Maclaren. They are light and robust I can push one and run when ds is late for school!

I love my Maclaren!

Santasmissyontheside · 22/12/2007 11:34

I changed from a very expensive Jane buggy (not Bugaboo, obviously, but a posh, all-terrain, equally trendy buggy!) to a basic McClaren fold-away when my son was still quite small, and I have never looked back. McClaren buggy's aren't glamourous, but they're light, easily manouverable, easy to fold and cheap as chips. I will never again waste money on a super-dooper buggy again. I have my eyes on the McClaren Techno with all the lovely little furry accessories for next baby (£180 for the top of the range one - my cumbersome super buggy cost over £500..argh!!!!).
