My hi-8 digital camcorder has died - how do i get the tape out?

Our camcorder has died, i want to take the tape out and it need power to do this.

Also are there places that will put the tape contents onto DVD?

Dunno about getting the tape out - you mean power isn't getting through at all, with battery or mains lead?

exactly - no power, might take it down to Jessops see if they can manually override the door. thanks for the links
