iPods - does anyone know anything about them?

Thinking of buying my husband an ipod for Xmas but dont know anything about them! Can anyone advise of best ones or tell me any info about them?

hi woollyboots, iPods are made by Apple and I'm sure your husb would be chuffed to bits to get one. You can have a look at www.apple.com and a good place to buy one is online at www.macwarehouse.com

There are different memory sizes - basically they plug in to a PC or Apple Mac and download music using software called iTunes. It's like having your own personalised walkman and they can store thousands of tracks. The software, cables etc. come with them. Good luck!

If you have a friend in the States, get them to get you one as they're a LOT cheaper over there. But if you want one, don't soend too long thinking about it as they sell out around Christmas time. DH's mate went to NY last week and they were sold out everywhere

They are brilliant - bought my hubby one for his birthday and he loves it. I got it from someone in the States - brand new in the box and only £160 - I think they're about £240 over here (plus you can't get them without a long wait). The person I bought from shipped it as a "gift" so I didn't have to pay import duty.

Lulopop, did you buy your ipod from ebay? have been looking there and someone is selling them and sending them as gifts. Would make me feel better if someone had already used this company!

Some boots stores have them 20mb and mini ipods - and you can get your advantage points (lots of them if you buy during a triple points offer) good luck
