Ready Beds/Inflatable Sleeping Bags - Are they any good.

Want to get some sort of sleeping bag thing for kids so that we can sleep more people, esp. over Christmas and New Year. We were thinking about these types of bed. I see you can get the inflatable ones with a soft headrest for between £18.00 and £29.00. Has anyone got one or have any advice as to which is the best to go for. Dont mind if we have to pay a bit more, our children are 4.8yrs and 2.7 yrs. I was wondering whats the maximum age/size child that can sleep comfortably in them....If I know it will last for a few years I may pick a design/character that will have a longer appeal to them.

We have a Ready Bed for DD (2.5yo) and really rate it. It seems very comfortable - although can get warm, as all fleece. I am sure DD could use it for ages to come as it is reasonably long. It can also be used without the sleeping bag bit, as a normal blow up bed.

So if you want you could just been a sheet on it and a normal duvet and pillow.....would that be comfy? Which one have you got out of interst and how much was it so I can gauge whats what when I flick through the catalogues. At what age do you think it would be too small?

We got ours from Great Little Trading Co . think it was about £35. There are cheaper places, but we needed it next day when we ordered it (hopeless pre-holiday disorganisation). DS is 3 and a half and I would guess he'll be in it for a few years. You could put a sheet and duvet on it, but the beauty of it is that you don't need to! The whole cover comes off to wash and it's really cosy, plus with a smaller child they are zipped in it and can't roll off. DS slept in his on holiday recently and wasn't at all happy when it was time to go back into his bed!

I got the Barbie Ready Bed - got it from Toys R Us. Think it was £29.99 - but not 100% sure.

Yes, you could use it with just a sheet and own divet on top if, for example, the sleeping bag was dirty and in the wash.

Comes with its own carry bag, and foot pump. Goes up really quickly too.

It's 155cm long if that helps? Which I think is about 5 foot long. So depends on how tallyour children are I guess. It's toddler bed length/ Bizarrely, as I am only 5 foot, I could probably just be able to sleep on it (maybe not IN it)

LOL mrsflowerpot - reminds me of DD. She insisted on sleeping in hers the first night when we got it

We've got an Argos junior size ready bed which is just about big enough for me (I'm about 5 foot). It's a bit bigger than the Fimbles/Thomas type ones with fleece bags. I find it quite comfy. I wish now I'd bought an adult size one though because thewn we could use it for visiting children or adults. You can take the sleeping bag off and use it with alternative bedding I suppose, but having used airbeds in the past with ordinary sleeping bags, I've found you do tend to fall off the bed in the middle of the night as they are pretty narrow!

pepsi we have one which i got in Asda for about £20, on sale as it was Fimbles design, probably a bit "young" for the inteneded age group! no-one seems to mind in my house tho.
You can get longer, adult sized ones for more money.
Yes agree with others, they are pretty easy to use and quite comfy i think. Handy as they fold away to a very small bag and could even be taken to another house for a sleepover!

We have just bought DS2 a Thomas the tank bed from Boots(with 10% off code)£27.00.
He loves it!.My DS1 who is 9 also fits into it-only just!.
We also own an inflatable bed that you plug in.It inflates in 4 minutes and is the size and height of a double bed.We bought it from Costco,i think it was about £20.You have to add your own blankets though!.
