MacLaren Global v Maclaren Techno?

I am posting this message on behalf of dsister who is expecting her first in January - she is dithering about a Maclaren Global/Techno - does anyone have a Global? Recommendations/complaints?

I have a Techno which I have used for dd2 from 6 weeks and it is fine - but she thinks it is too flimsy for a newborn. She doesnt have a pc but would love to hear anyone's experiences.

Is the Global actually out yet ?

I don't know - its hard to find anything about it on the website. Maybe its not out yet in which case I doubt this thread will prove useful!!!

It's just that browsing through Baby Boom yesterday I noticed it was due for 2005, but then I suppose those models will be out about now anyway.

I had a techno XT from birth - fantastic, really pleased with it. Dunno anything about the Global. I got mine cheap off www.kiddicare.com Only problem is teh mechanism for putting the seat flat is a bit tricky at first, and impossible with the baby already in it. Also, you can't really access the storage underneath with the seat flat.
