Would appreciate any recommendations please. I want to get one for DH for his birthday. He's an android user so have been looking at Samsung models but it seems the cheaper models won't allow apps to be moved to the sim card which means they won't hold much. Lenovo seem highly rated but I hadn't thought they had a great rep before and we had a very cheap one years ago which was very slow. Any models others would recommend? He will use for Facebook and watching videos mostly I think

The Amazon Kindle is android based, but with a pretty limited set of app. But for watching videos and web browsing it's fine and a very good value.

Thanks for that. I had forgotten about Kindles, will take a look

I have the Fire HD 10 and the screen quality is excellent. I use it mostly for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and websurfing. It's on offer now for just 90 quid.

Thanks again both. Had a good look and ultimately decided DH wouldn't get on with lack of a Google Play store on Kindles. However after much googling found the Lenovo M10 plus which looks like a brilliant alternative and has been reduced for Black Friday.

You're quite welcome. I'm sure he'll love the Lenovo tablet.

Your username made me wonder, are you in the US or from California?

SantaMonicaPier · 30/11/2021 18:05

Neither but I have family in California, and Santa Monica Pier is one of my favourite places :)

Thanks for explaining it. I'm in NY but have been to Santa Monica and found the whole city lovely.
